I have never been so excited in wanting to share awesome eyeshadow colours than with these by theBalm. However; with great responsibility; comes a great rush. Thing is; theBalm Shady Lady range is being discontinued by Kit Cosmetics. They are at a bargain price of $9 each. NINE DOLLARS EACH.
This American brand has cutesy names and packaging that would rival Benefit Cosmetics but value for money is superior. Ie – each Shady Lady eyeshadow is 3.4g. I know, I know – who looks at the weight? BUT. Case in point – MAC eyeshadows are 1.5g each (at $33). Granted, the colour range is amazing and obviously holds up quality wise – but the pigmentation on the Shady Lady range is amazing, and so bold with one swipe.
So; when I heard they were $9, and going FAST I needed to get the rest of the colours I didn’t have quicksmart!
I went to get some colours at my local Kit stores; however I was out of luck. I went to get it online, but ended up having to call the helpline due to an issue with the browser at work. Thing is, each of the eyeshadows have interesting names. Ie, the purple shadow is Curvy Cami and the emerald green above is Jealous Jordana. The others I wanted to get were ‘worse’. Worse in terms of I had an audience of IT guys that were only just getting used to having a girl in their midst. Imagine my embarassment when I asked for ‘Racy Casey’ (a deep coppery shimmer) or ‘Shameless Shana’ (tahitian bronze). Needless to say, I shortened the names and just settled for Casey or Shana and gave the lady on the help desk an amusing phone call!
So this is me telling you… get on this bus.
