Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup

Only recently, I was given the opportunity to be given a makeover by my local Revlon make-up artist to try out the new Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup. You know the one, Elle McPherson is spruiking it, looking GORGEOUS and it works like a foundation, a sun protectant and skin protection prevention; for before you get old. And wrinkly. This helps all of that in one!

First of all, I LOVE the packaging, where the makeup emulates DNA strands within the bottle and to top it off, it comes with a pump. So much better than having to tip it out onto your hand, you can really control the amount you need.  Applying it with a stippling brush I find has worked best for me, and it feels so light on your skin; it actually has a medium finish to it.

Generally, I like a light to medium finish only because when you have a special event to go to, and you want that full-finish effect, it can really weigh you down. Somehow. As much as a product that absorbs into your skin can, but you know what I mean!

This just wears lovely, and once blended, you will forget you have it on. All except for an airbrushed look, with only a hint of a glow. Not a shimmer, but a sheen. I’ve been trying it out for a few days at a time, and I’m loving it paired with Revlon’s PhotoReady powder just to ensure I’m not shiney (if someone wanted to take a sneaky shot of me) As you can see above.. with Soft Beige applied, it really does just look like I have naturally gorgeous skin. Does it not? It covers my splotchiness, and redness in my cheeks, and I have felt a general improvement in my skin, even when I’m not wearing it. (On lazy weekends)

I suggest that you need to go get you some. Seriously. Get it while its hot, on special, on discount. Even if you are younger than me, and don’t really need to defy age as much as moi; get some!

    Does it beat Colorstay?
I still keep going back to that stuff cos it’s just SO good. Though lately I’ve been trying to wear less makeup and have found the Laura Mercier pressed mineral powder is pretty good. It’s got a lot of coverage for a powder and evens out my skin-tone really well.
It doesn’t have the staying power of Colorstay though (funny that).

I also didnt mind the PhotoReady but it was just a dash too sparkly. This DNA one could be a go-er ;-P

You know, I haven’t worn Colourstay yet but I know lots of gals swear by it! Love LM, but I have the loose powder. I’m convinced her pressed would be just as good.. I love the Photoready powder, even on a lazy day with a tinted moisturiser. Give it a go :)
