Peer pressure, I’m far too sensitive. (Name the movie reference!)
Okay, but for reals; I bowed to it, I caved, and I bought a couple of the latest lipstick craze to have hit the Aussie shores. In the form of super bold lipsticks. These aren’t marketed to be stains at all, but they are so pigmented, the back of my hand post swatch is definitely discoloured. Generally you only see bold colours at MAC, NARS, or especially Illamasqua where they gain cult status.
But Maybelline have been bold (pardon the pun) and released a collection of super bold power colours in the form of the Vivids collection, as part of the Color Sensational range.
In a range of about a dozen colours, there are colours for all skin tones; but that doesn’t mean they are every day colours. They really are a rich, bold colour that require you to wear only lashings of mascara and you are DONE. The most ‘wearable’ colours for my skin tone , and after much research are these two. They aren’t Sunday colours people.
The first is Shocking Coral (which leans to a pinker version of the hybrid) and the second is Vibrant Mandarin which is a gorgeous colour almost true to its name – but not quite as orange.
I mean look at these swatches! That is not me going back and forth and back and forth; that its a good two swipes. Wha-pow! The Vibrant Mandarin is my favourite at this point, but once I find a hot outfit to rock with this bold lip; I’ll keep you posted :)
