I’m known to get confused easily. I provide endless amusement for the friends that look at me quizzically and think huh? Really? How do you not get that?! Despite that, I love the discussion and questions that can come after a movie, or TV show and having someone around to provide a different perspective, or interpretation because in the end I don’t believe movies or TV always has ONE meaning to be gained from it. Or meaning at all? I digress. Slightly.
When it comes to movies like anything by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Inception, Source Code, or anything by Daren Aronofsky, or.. heck, TV shows like Dr Who; I tend to find myself going to websites like Wikipedia, or anything that will descriptively write what has happened. I admit that I watched Moon, and had to look at Wikipedia to understand the ending. Do you do that? I think I have trouble with film that is ‘interpretive’ or have ambiguous endings because I want some closure, I want some finality. I still haven’t come to the realisation that perhaps the writer/director doesn’t want to give us that. Thoughts?
