Just Quickly; Beauty Bus Cosmetics (FB) or how not to use social media

I have removed the image of Beauty Bus Cosmetics header’ at the request of the business – but that is all I am removing.

(Please forgive my Perez Hilton attempt at commentary there – I was in the moment)

Look, I don’t know the legalities of selling replicas and genuine products, and being open about it. (The fake part). I’m ignorant to that sort of thing, I figured if you’re open about it, and willing to pay for a dupe and pay less… that’s ok? I’m not sure. Obviously not great for the genuine product manufacturer.

In any case; I had seen an ad on Facebook for a local beauty company that sold on Facebook, no real ‘store’ as such, more like, here I’m posting a photo, leave us your email and we’ll invoice you! It seemed.. different but I was too curious.

Today I saw a post for an Urban Decay Naked palette dupe. Now, for those not in the beauty realm; Urban Decay’s stand out product recently is the Naked palette. Nothing but rave reviews, and it has a sequel, and a condensed version spurring on other neutral palettes, inspired by the success of Urban Decay’s product!

Thing is; to buy it on Urban Decay’s website or Sephora for instance if you were in the US, the price of this palette is $50. On Ebay you can find it for generally around that price, or however much the bidding goes up if not a ‘buy it now’ listing.

Beauty Bus Cosmetics decided to put their Urban Decay listing at $75 + shipping.

So I merely commented why is this such an escalated price for the genuine product? Even above RRP?

No response. When I saw that other queries about which version of the Naked palette it was duplicating; they were responded to. Mine was not. I asked again; why is this at such a high price when you can get it for cheaper from the actual manufacturer?

My comments were then deleted, and I was blocked. If this doesn’t scream poor customer service, in responding to a comment, let alone choosing to ignore it, and then delete it AND prevent the *potential* customer from commenting again – I had to call them out on it. This is just me sharing with you my experience, and also how NOT to treat people on social media when you want to be respected. Or you know, sell genuine products.

/end rant.
