Capsule Review; Australis eyeshadow primer

Thought I’d start doing these ‘capsule reviews’ just so I can share my thoughts that linger; even if I haven’t had the product for too long. They are a bit beyond first impressions, but lasting ones after a few uses. The first I’m to share with you?

Australis’ Eyeshadow Primer.

I’ve seen this on my friend xofemmebeauty’s youtube channel and she is a big fan of Australis’ products and definitely got me into them. The fact that she was using the eye primer above others made me want to go out and get it.

It is in a compact bright pink (on brand) packaging with a doe foot applicator – which I appreciate far more than a little tub I must say. The consistency is comparable to a thinner white cream though it blends out quite nicely and doesn’t take long before it dries across the eyelid.

But the gripe, and not just a small one would have to be the way the packaging is far too sturdy for the wand to reach into the container once you start needing to get in on the sides. There is no bend in the wand, or flexibility in the packaging to get every bit of product you want. This is very reminiscent of the many issues lovers of Urban Decay’s Primer Potion had with its ‘genie bottle’ tube, and the fact that you were not able to get into the product once it dipped below the halfway mark. Many a blog post, and video was made about having to cut the tube in half in order to re-house the product in another container. I did it myself, and cut into my finger a little because of how hard it was to knife into the product…

The Australis product is going to be impossible as its even harder than the UDPP! That equals wasted product, and therefore wasted $$ on a good product. Do you see a way around this?
