As I’m sure I’ve previously illustrated, I’m reasonably new to beauty and skincare, much like a teenage girl discovering it for the first time. That being said, whilst I’m not investing in any age-prevention skincare just yet, I am discovering everyday basics in order to prevent my skin from looking like the crazy old cat lady that I feel like I am sometimes.
Dermalogica is a skincare brand I have never heard a bad thing about. Skincare is quite an individual thing and so any particular type of cream, or lotion, or gel will not work on everyone – as everyone’s skin is almost as unique as a fingerprint – but Dermalogica’s reputation is still quite upstanding.
I was invited by Adore Beauty to try out their kit which I selected in Normal/Oily – for the most part my skin is quite clear with a few splotches, that I couldn’t even tell you if its just a reaction to environment, or if I’m using the wrong eye cream (to tackle the set of luggage I have goin’ on) and if I have any trouble spots, its leaning towards oiliness in my T-zone.
The Skincare Starter set which comes in a lil zip-up handy travel bag comes with mini sizes of their best known products –
Each product has a very light, non-sneeze inducing scent, and applies beautifully, where the ‘less is more’ protocol definitely comes into play. Honestly, the most difficult part of testing this out was making sure that I remembered to cleanse and tone before bedtime! I would say at this stage, I am managing to treat my face every 2nd night – and after 2 weeks, my skin has never felt so refreshed. The cleansing gel is so lovely and gentle, whilst the toner is easy to apply with the bottle applying it via a mist. Less is more people – don’t go crazy town with it.
I heartily recommend investing in these products full size – the end result is clear, refreshed and hydrated skin. I must say that I will never take for granted the relaxing feeling of going to bed with a freshly cleansed face.
