Fluttering my lashes

I’ve never really been one to spend loads on mascara. After all, even with an eyelash curler and a non-clumping mascara, curled dark lashes can still make an impression and make a difference to otherwise lacklustre eyes.

Personally, I have short lashes and whilst I’ve had a taste of super long giraffe lashes care of falsies from Gorgeous Cosmetics (at a Melbourne Fashion Week event) it does take a lot of effort to confidentally and smoothly put false lashes on. I want noticeable lashes on a daily basis, dang it!

I think that is definitely what ModelCo FiberLash Brush On Lashes achieves. (Though.. American spelling for an Australian company?) Retailing at $48AUD, it comes in a cute bright pink (trademark for ModelCo) box with lush black lashes swept in from the top. Sliding the cover off reveals two silver tubes as shown in the illustration above. (Picture from the ModelCo website)The small tube is the magic here; the ‘fiber’ aspect.

After brushing on the extension mascara (which in itself should be sold on its own – its wonderful) you brush on the fiber.. let me just say, even if you do this carefully, and looking down as instructions state; it feels like you’re brushing dandelions on your lashes. It looks incredibly odd to brush white fluffy fibers onto your lashes but of course, as women in the quest of long and luscious lashes (try saying that 5 times fast) we will do anything. After this is done, another coat or two of the extension mascara, et voila. You have just added incredible length to your lashes.

Its amazing; I found myself on the first few uses looking at every reflective surface I could, marvelling at how long my lashes looked. (Going through the City Loop on Melbourne trains is awesome for clandestine glances at one’s lashes) Notably, once I curled lashes pre-application – I was even more amazed. I can’t recommend this highly enough! It truly does achieve what it sets out to do, and definitely makes me feel a little more glamorous on an average day when I don’t have to get tweezers, or lash glue out just to achieve this look.

[...] I was quite happy with the results from ModelCo’s FibreLash Mascara which I reviewed here, the time and effort taken there (and not getting the fibres in your eye) is much, much reduced [...]
