Oscar Couture favourites

Here are my three picks for most stunning of the evening; thankfully there wasn’t a standout *gasp* horror type dress, though they all seemed to play it safe. Amanda Seyfried seemed to be the brightest in crimson on the red carpet. Alicia Keys looked pretty, but the magenta HELLO LOOK AT ME shade of her dress was a bit too much – in contrast to the other actresses. Angelina played it safe with her standard black – but I did love her jade earrings. And Brad as her accessory. Awww, I don’t mean that.

All in all, the foofy chiffon look s

eemed to be back – but still, for the most part elegance reined.

Here are my three favourites: Jessica Biel, Natalie Portman, and Marisa Tomei. Stunning, classic but contemporary.

I love that you picked Natalie, she looked absolultely stunning and so did Marissa.
Not too sure about Jessica’s dress, it just didn’t rock my world.

Natalie is just stunning, and I loved the bodice of the dress and how it had a bit of gold amongst the pink. It could have been a ‘Grecian’ beige/gold but the pink just really worked it. :)

have to agree about Jessica’s dress being a bit different… what about the dress do you find so classic? Marisa’s and Natalie’s dresses even I can see are classic lines, but i’m not sure about Jessica’s. to me it looks a bit like she tried to wear a toga or a sari and the instructions were in chinese with indescript diagrams

Haha! I just think she went for something with a bit of a different shape, and although unusual she still makes it work. I don’t think its too foofy at the front, I think it sits nicely along the front, and I love the colour. Her hair, and the makeup are understated enough to really go well with it.

    Hey Kimberley!

    I don’t know much about dresses… though I’d say I like Marisa’s best out of those three…

I just wanted to say I’m sorry we kinda lost you at the convention the other day after Angie left. I came out of the goodies room and I couldn’t see you… I’m sure you had a great time without us anyway :)

It was great to meet you and I’m sure we’ll cross paths again. Happy days!

    Erica.

Hi Erica! You lie! You so know about dresses! You were one of the glammest authors there! :) (The red one was my fave!)

I think I’m actually in the minority for loving Jessica Biel’s dress – I heard Kojo on ET say it looked like she was wearing a lobster bib. Ouch.

And you have nothing to apologise for! I wandered around, and had to talk myself into staying nervously, and I made new friends along the way, got my books signed, and won a prize from MJD and hubby in the ‘Romance with Attitude’ panel. It was a shock!

Looking forward to reading your work on the website, even though Angie says its a tease :P

    Hi Kim!
Just thought about leaving out two cents about the best dressed here too :) we think that Anne Hathaway was also very pretty as well as Daniel Craig’s girlfriend with that red dress. And Kate Winslet was quite dashing too.
